I want to thank all the families for such wonderful conferences! The children did a great job leading and taking ownership for their learning. You work so hard to help your children at home and I appreciate all the time it takes. I hope your family enjoys a well-deserved Spring Break on March 31-April 4!
We have begun a new science unit on Air and Weather! The students were excited to explore how air moves objects. They did an experiment with air and water yesterday. The children saw how air produces bubbles in water. They also learned how to keep a paper towel dry under water! We will continue to experiment with air and then move on to weather. Ask your child about their daily experiments and practice our science vocabulary words. It's Science Time!
Why should we learn about text features? It helps one understand a non-fiction text and makes the text interesting and fun! We are learning all about text features. The students are identifying different types of features in their own reading. We are actively looking for the different types of features in our non-fiction texts. You can point out different text features at home. If you get a newspaper or magazine, have your child cut out different examples of the text features. We are creating our own classroom chart and need examples to put on the chart. Happy Text Feature Finding! |
Ms. BedfordI have been teaching for 22 years. When not at school, I enjoy traveling, knitting, and getting together with family and friends. My cat Gilmore brings me laughter with her silly antics. It is a joy to watch children learn and grow during the school year! Archives
