We are at the end of our first week of kindergarten!
The children have learned many of our classroom routines! Yesterday everyone knew their lunch spot. They know how to go through the line and get their lunch or take their cold lunch to their table spot. They know how to "Show 5" and freeze for new directions. The children are learning about colors. We have had red, purple and orange day. We are reading stories related to the colors, singing songs, and doing activities. These are tied into the school tools we use. We learn how scissors, crayons, pencils and glue is used and stored in the classroom. Needless to say, we are exhausted! All this fun and learning wears everyone (including the teachers) out! Please take some time to have fun with your child and get them plenty of rest this weekend. We have more color days over the next two weeks. They will learn about other routines and school tools. We will pick out our Hopes and Dreams for kindergarten. Plus, many other fun things! I am enjoying getting to know your children! It has been a great first week! |
Ms. BedfordI have been teaching for 22 years. When not at school, I enjoy traveling, knitting, and getting together with family and friends. My cat Gilmore brings me laughter with her silly antics. It is a joy to watch children learn and grow during the school year! Archives
