Did you know we have a reading CAFE in our classroom? We have been learning about different reading strategies to help us become better readers. Each strategy falls into one of four different categories that spell out the word CAFE. They are Comprehension, Accuracy, Fluency, and Expanding Vocabulary. Just like a CAFE we eat in, we get to choose what strategy we want to work on in our reading. The children each wrote their names on a sticky note and placed it by the strategy of their choice. We are practicing the strategy when we read to self and others. Ask your child about it and practice at home! It is freezing! Just a reminder to send your child with socks, boots, snow pants, winter coats/jackets, hats, and gloves/mittens EVERY day. Please label all items so we know what belongs to each child.
It is also chilly in the classroom. If you send your child in a t-shirt, please send a sweatshirt or sweater, too. Thank you for your help! |
Ms. BedfordI have been teaching for 22 years. When not at school, I enjoy traveling, knitting, and getting together with family and friends. My cat Gilmore brings me laughter with her silly antics. It is a joy to watch children learn and grow during the school year! Archives
