Wow! As I am writing, I cannot believe it is our third trimester. It seems like yesterday I was meeting you at August assessments and welcoming you to our room at Open House. I love to reflect back at the beginning of a new trimester. The children have grown so much! They not only know their letters and letter sounds, but are blending words and are reading books. They are able to make inferences and analyze story elements. In math, they are identifying 2-D and 3-D shapes, counting, adding, and discussing greater than and less than. Yes, we have more to learn during this final trimester of kindergarten, but I want to take time to celebrate the successes the children have had during the first two trimesters. Congratulations on all your triumphs! And for all those not yets, that is why we have tri 3!

This is our final week to read and send in coins! Our class has already donated $16.40 in coins!Dear Woodland Families,
I encourage you to set reading goals with your child to tie in with our Reading 4 Research fundraiser. We are collecting coins to donate for childhood cancer research. You are also able to donate online (if you do so, please send me a note with the total donation--the grade levels are competing for a prize). Every coin sent in is helping out a former Woodland teacher and her daughter fight this horrible disease.

Ms. BedfordI have been teaching for 22 years. When not at school, I enjoy traveling, knitting, and getting together with family and friends. My cat Gilmore brings me laughter with her silly antics. It is a joy to watch children learn and grow during the school year! Archives
