The students are working on the beginning, middle, and end of a story. We read a story, discuss the characters, setting, problem, events, and solution. We are now practicing writing and telling the story in order. This is a great way to begin summarizing a story. It is the first step in reading comprehension. We use this chart daily to help us understand our reading and make us better writers. Use this at home to reinforce your child's comprehension of the story events. Students can also practicing writing the beginning, middle, and end of a story you are reading at home. When your child is writing, make sure they include the characters and setting in the beginning of their story, the problem in the middle of the story, and the solution at the end of their story. Happy Beginning, Middle, and End!

Ms. BedfordI have been teaching for 22 years. When not at school, I enjoy traveling, knitting, and getting together with family and friends. My cat Gilmore brings me laughter with her silly antics. It is a joy to watch children learn and grow during the school year! Archives
