We have begun analyzing story characters. First, pick a character from the story. Then, pick a trait that character has. Finally, find evidence from the book that shows the trait. This is new learning for some children. It takes lots of practice. We will be creating a list of character traits to use in the classroom. Children could create their own list at home to use during their daily reading time. Analyzing characters helps readers connect to the characters and story. Happy analyzing!

Ms. BedfordI have been teaching for 22 years. When not at school, I enjoy traveling, knitting, and getting together with family and friends. My cat Gilmore brings me laughter with her silly antics. It is a joy to watch children learn and grow during the school year! Archives
