In order to identify things, we are learning how to determine text importance, or what are some key words the signal similarities and differences. These key words help us compare and contrast.
There are many ways to compare and contrast when reading. We have done so with one book, or several books. Here are some of the ways we have done so in class:
- characters
- settings
- plot/story events
- past & present
Comparing and Contrasting is something we do in our everyday lives. We are taking this strategy and using it across all curricular content areas, as well as in our everyday routines. What can you compare & contrast at home?
