“The goals of American Indian Education Day are to enlighten the public about American Indian history and heritage while also uplifting Minnesota’s American Indian students by providing encouragement and pathways to pursue higher education,” said Ramona Stately, Secondary Indian Education Program Coordinator for the Osseo Area Schools.

What is a Powwow? Get more information here from scenes of the 16th Annual powwow: The long-awaited full-length pow wow video, "They Dance" , is now available on YouTube. It is a documentary made in partnership with the ISD 279 Indian Education Program and North Hennepin Community College to give insight into some of the oldest knowledge on this continent. Each year we have a Powwow and this video was made to help students and the community understand the gathering as a welcoming and social event!
