We began our final reading unit this week! We are learning how to draw conclusions using clues in a text and prior knowledge. We do this by making inferences. As we read a story, we think about what we already know. We add that to the clues the author give us within the text. Then, we are able to draw conclusions about what the author is not telling us!

I feel like a broken record but I just LOVE hearing those terms at home when Nora is reading or just doing every day things. I hear about inference and conclusions a lot. We also like to compare and contrast. Hehe. Soaking it up! I love it.

Ms. BedfordI have been teaching for 22 years. When not at school, I enjoy traveling, knitting, and getting together with family and friends. My cat Gilmore brings me laughter with her silly antics. It is a joy to watch children learn and grow during the school year! Archives
