This week we started a new reading unit about making predictions! We are learning how to find clues and evidence in a book, and use them to predict what will happen next. The students are doing a wonderful job reading their I Can statements. Next week, they will practice writing the evidence and their predictions in a graphic organizer. Here are two charts we are using in our classroom to help us learn this reading comprehension strategy. You can help by practicing making inferences and predictions about the books you are reading with your child at home!

Ms. BedfordI have been teaching for 22 years. When not at school, I enjoy traveling, knitting, and getting together with family and friends. My cat Gilmore brings me laughter with her silly antics. It is a joy to watch children learn and grow during the school year! Archives
