We have begun another Math Mini-Unit! The unit is about Shapes and Patterns. Yesterday we learned about congruent and similar figures. Today we combined shapes and cut shapes in half to create new shapes. The unit will also explore motion geometry (recognizing slides, flips, and turns of geometric figures and extend geometric patterns using these transformations). The students will identify, extend, and create patterns with shapes. The unit ends with counting square units to find the area of shapes. We will be testing early next week.

Ms. BedfordI have been teaching for 22 years. When not at school, I enjoy traveling, knitting, and getting together with family and friends. My cat Gilmore brings me laughter with her silly antics. It is a joy to watch children learn and grow during the school year! Archives
