We have been learning about patterns and shapes in math!
You can find both patterns and shapes at home. Discuss what makes a pattern and why a shape is that shape.
We have been learning about patterns and shapes in math! The students began with patterns. We explored the different types of patterns (shape, number, color), named the patterns (AB--red, blue, red, blue; AAB--115115), extended patterns, and created our own patterns. The students loved using new class materials to make patterns! Next, we moved on to shapes. We are defining shapes, talking about shapes, and finding shapes in our daily lives. The scholars each have their own math journal where they can record their findings! I have been recording the students doing their work and sharing it with them in class. They love seeing themselves and are teaching each other in the process! You can find both patterns and shapes at home. Discuss what makes a pattern and why a shape is that shape. Happy Pattern and Shape Discovering!

Ms. BedfordI have been teaching for 22 years. When not at school, I enjoy traveling, knitting, and getting together with family and friends. My cat Gilmore brings me laughter with her silly antics. It is a joy to watch children learn and grow during the school year! Archives
