Minnesota Reading Corps-the nation’s largest state AmeriCorps program-and its sister program Minnesota Math Corps are looking to place a FIVE Literacy Tutors at our school. Tutors not only change the world of kids who are struggling in school, they experience professional and personal growth. Tutors help kids become successful readers by the end of third grade or proficient in math by the end of eighth grade, by implementing research-based strategies.
· I’ve included a video which review’s Reading Corps’ mission and the roles of our tutors. In addition to the information on the video, I would like to highlight a few items. Tutors do not need a college degree to serve in our program.
· They just need a HS diploma and be 18 years of age.
· In addition to the living stipend, tutors receive an education award ($5,645 for full-time members) to go towards college.
Please forward this email to anyone you feel may be interested in this opportunity! Thank you for your time and help.
