Our third math unit is all about Story or Word Problems. The students have been introduced to the four-step problem solving process. They use it every time they solve a story problem. We have learned about Change Plus, Change Minus, Collection, Comparison, Not Enough Information, and Too Much Information types of problems. We will also learn about Hidden Information and Two-Step problems. Students should be able to explain the process and types of problems at home.
