I received the following email from Amy Titus, our Volunteer Coordinator. Please contact her if you are available to help.
Read through the following information to see if there are ways you can volunteer this year. Send me an email if you want to sign up or have additional questions.
Kindergarten and 1st Grade Lunch Help
We are looking for a few volunteers to help out our kindergarten and first graders in the lunchroom. We especially need help the first couple weeks. You would be helping enter lunch numbers, open milks, dispense condiments, etc. Most of our kindergartners are new to eating lunch in the cafeteria and would appreciate some friendly, helpful volunteers! This would be a perfect opportunity if you have a kindergarten or first grader. Shifts could be on a once, once-a-week or every-other-week basis. The lunch times are: 1st grade - 11:45 to 12:10, Kindergarten - 12:30 to 1:00. Please arrive a few minutes before the start time.
Wednesday Mail
Mail is sent home with students every Wednesday. We have a team of people that help put it together each week. You can help every week, every other week, once a month. This takes place in the conference room in the office starting at 9:30. Usually it is finished by 10:30. Mail starts right away next week and I could use two people that morning.
Media Center
Responsibilities include checking in and shelving books, fixing books, and helping students. Each shift is about two hours long. We especially need help on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays.
Laminating
Laminating is done every Monday morning and Wednesday afternoon. We are looking to fill the Wednesday afternoon time slot. The volunteer should be able to be here every Wednesday afternoon, is detail orientated and organized. If you would like more information, give me a call.
Tuesday Team
I would like to get a team of volunteers to come in on Tuesdays to work on teacher projects. Once a week, every other week, again whatever works for your schedule. No experience is necessary. Projects would include teacher projects, die cutting, hanging artwork in hallways, cutting laminating, maybe even hot gluing! It’s all very exciting!
I think that’s all for now. If something sounds interesting and you’d like to learn more, please email me.
Thank you for all you’ve done this year. Last year we had 4,060 volunteer hours!!! That is a lot of time and effort by you and we appreciate it!
And, finally, if you wish to be removed from my mailing list, let me know.
